Updated: 02 June 2020

Bowls WA would like to thank clubs who have continued to follow the state government and health advice given during this period of COVID-19 affected restrictions.

As announced by the State Premier last Friday, WA is now moving to Phase 3 of Restrictions which apply from Saturday June 6th. These changes will allow our clubs to return to almost normal operations however it is important that clubs continue to observe the rules and guidelines;

  • Licensed clubs should complete an updated COVID Safety Plan and display the certificate.

  • Bar Staff need to have completed the COVID-19 Hygiene Course.

  • Hand Sanitizer is made available for staff/members.

  • Service of alcohol and food – alcohol can be served without a meal however patrons must be seated. (Bowls WA is seeking further clarification on this and may release an update in due course).

  • Carefully manage shared spaces (including service areas) to ensure physical distancing.

  • Maintain a strict minimum of 2 square metres per person.

  • A maximum of 100 patrons/players is permitted in each separately designated area, (including greens) to a total maximum of 300.

  • Shared equipment is now allowed provided it is cleaned between use.

  • Members should continue to practise social distancing 1.5m and good hygiene at all times.

Please also consult with your local government council for further advice and compliance within your area.

Dear Members

I hope you have all been keeping well. It's great to see some of you back down at the Club having a roll-up and enjoying this beautiful May weather.

Mufti Pairs Commencing (Thursdays and Saturdays)

Gordon Slee has offered to run the Thursday and Saturday Mufti Pairs, commencing this Thursday (21 May) and  Saturday 23 May.

The cost will be $10 person - 12.30pm for a 1pm start on both days.

Please bring the correct money in notes only. Bookings are essential and can be made with Brenda on 0422 973 029. Numbers will be limited to 20 people at this stage but we are working on new advice just received from Bowls WA advising that all clubs may now have twenty (20) people per green, (max – 3 greens). Please stay tuned for an update on our numbers.

Members will have first preference for now. Those who miss out for the 'first 20' will be offered the next Thursday or Saturday to make it fair for everyone.

There is a strict no-alcohol rule laid down by the Rec Club and no BYO will be permitted and doing so will jeopardise their licence.

Scroungers (Sundays)

From Sunday 24th May Peter Lawlor and Ducky will be running Sunday scrounges. 10am for 10.30am start. The cost will be $7 per person. Bookings are essential,  please contact  Peter on  0438 931 858.

The City of Bayswater has kindly offered to open and clean the toilet near the main entrance to the Rec Club.

Tuesday Ladies Scroungers

Ladies Scroungers have now commenced. 12pm for a 12.30pm start.

Singles Championships

Please also keep an eye out for upcoming dates for the Singles Championships, that are yet to be completed.

Kind regards

Brenda Dunstan
