Men's Singles Championship and Novice Championship (Sunday 5 July)

What a great weekend of bowling. Congratulations to Keith Nazareth (Men's Singles Champion) narrowly edging out Mark Calcott in a come from behind nail biter.

Congrats to Glenn Pinto (Men's Novice Champion) edging out Brett Vuleta in another thriller.

Kaye Hughes (Ladies Novice Champion) defeating Maree Terry.

Congratulations to all players!

A big thank you to our fantastic, hard-working Green's committee, Bobtail, Sharyn and Ally for getting our Greens in tip-top shape.

Thank you also to Kerry Godden (Ladies Captain) and  Gordon Slee (Men's Captain), for making sure that the event ran smoothly. Also to all our fabulous Markers, Refs and coaches - you are all amazing! And of course, our members who gave up their Sunday to come down and support the players. Without you all, this event just wouldn't have happened. Thank you.

LOST: Has anyone seen a black “Katmandu” rain jacket that was left at the club during Mufti pairs on Saturday 4 July? It may have been left near rink 5 on A green. There is a black jacket in the bowls office so perhaps you may have taken this one by mistake. Rhonda is keen to get it back so she can go to Katmandu!!

PHASE 4 RESTRICTIONS ANNOUNCEMENT

BY AARON DELAPORTE

Updated: 27 June 2020

The move to Phase 4 restrictions announced recently by the WA State Government and to be applied from Saturday June 27th will see WA Bowling Clubs return to almost normal operations. The important changes for clubs with the transition to Phase 4 are listed below:

  • All existing gathering limits and the 100/300 rule will be removed. Gathering limits will only be determined by WA’s reduced 2sqm capacity rule;

  • The 2sqm rule will include staff only at venues that hold more than 500 patrons;

  • Removal of seated service requirements at food businesses and licensed premises, meaning Western Australians can once again enjoy a beer while standing at a pub or bar;

  • No requirement to maintain patron register at food businesses and licensed premises;

  • Staff, Members and guests should continue to maintain 1.5m social distancing and practice good hygiene.

Clubs are again encouraged to update their COVID Safety Plan through the following documents:

Bowls WA would again like to thank clubs and their members who have continued to follow the state government and health advice given during this period of COVID-19 affected restrictions.
