Windup/Presentation Night and Opening Night - THIS Saturday 3 October
The Club is combining the Wind-up/Presentation Night Dinner with 'Opening Night' celebrations. $20 per head includes a fabulous 2-course meal, drinks and a band. (This event is subsidised by the Club). As we are 'capped' at 100 people, don't be disappointed, get in fast to secure your tickets which are available from the Bar. (Cash only sorry). Free Coaching Seminars
Our Club Coaches, Ken Perks and Stiks will be conducting three coaching clinics on Wednesday 7, 14 and 21 October in the Den area of the club. These sessions are not just directed at new members but will be a great lead up for all players in readiness for the coming pennant season. Sparbier (Opening Day) - Sunday 11 October
Yes, it's on!! Sheets are up in the Bowls Office for our much loved Sparbier Day taking place Sunday 11 October. (Drawn Fours). The day kicks off with a Sausage Sizzle at 12 noon, then we're off and 'Sparbiering' at 1pm. For our new members, this is a great social day and a great way to get to know your fellow members. Please wear your Club uniform.
Upcoming 2020/21 Pennant Season
With the new season nearly upon us, could all pennant bowlers (both Men and Ladies) indicate which days they wish to play? The sheets are posted on the notice boards in the Bowls Office.
Men's Pennant Practice
Please check your notice board for details on scheduled pennant practice or scratch matches.
The first pennant practice game will be an Intra-Club game on Saturday 26 September. Please arrive at 12.30pm for a 1pm start so the selectors can select the sides.
Ladies Pennants Practice Matches
There are scratch matches scheduled for this Tuesday 29 September against Mt Lawley at home. Tuesday 6 October against Bedford also at home. Tuesday 13 October will be hosted at Bayswater. Saturday 3 October will against Osborne Park at home, then finally at home the following Saturday 10 October which will be an inter-club scratch match. There are 'unavailable' sheets up in the bowls office. Please indicate on these sheets if you are going to be unavailable for any of these games.
All players are required to wear club uniforms for all pennant games and club events from (and including) the opening Sparbier trophy day on Sunday 11th October.
We have a limited range of stock available at heavily reduced prices of $20. A list of these is displayed on the merchandise cabinet in the bowls room, as is a list of prices for other items in stock. New stocks of shirts, caps and hats are on order and we expect these to be available in early October.
Club jackets @ $80 each can be ordered – put your name on the list on the men’s notice board. Please note that we need a minimum of 10 to make up an order.

There are a number of men’s lockers available at a nominal fee of $10 per year, including a combination lock. Please contact Murray Reynish 0410 714 151 if you would like a locker. Any bowls bag left in the bowls operation room will be removed and placed in a locker.r You’ll need to contact Muzz to get it back!
The Ladies have a limited number of lockers and most of these are taken. If you would like a locker please contact Rhonda and she will see if some of the lockers are not being used.

Morley Gala Day - Re-scheduled to 17 February 2021
Due to quite a few teams withdrawing from our Gala Day on Wednesday 13 October due to wanting to play in their own pennant practice matches, we have had to reschedule it to next year - Wednesday 17 February 2021.
Tuesday Ladies Scroungers Grand Final
Congratulations to one of our new bowlers (Kerrie Hudson) for winning the Tuesday Ladies Scroungers Final. It was a great day with the result coming down to a 3-way sudden death roll-off between the ever consistent Rhonda Reynish, Kaye Hughes and the eventual winner (Kerrie). Thanks to Gail Habekost for her tireless effort in running Scroungers every Tuesday and also our gorgeous Patron - Jill Clarke for her ongoing support which is greatly appreciated.

Morley recently hosted the recent Novice Champion of Champions. There were 2 quality days of bowling from both the Men and Women. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and this helped to set up 2 fabulous days of bowling.

UPCOMING UMPIRING COURSES
Bowls WA has a number of umpiring course upcoming for both New and Re-accrediting Umpires. Due to the COVID 19 impact, several course sessions are to be held at various venues around the Metropolitan area. Necessarily, numbers WILL be limited at each venue. Applications from candidates will need to nominate their preferred relevant time, date and venue to attend, as well as a second choice in the event their first choice is filled on a first-received application basis.
